The Mubarak Bagh of Gieneral Sir David Ochterlony (1758-1825) was built four miles to the north of Shahjahanabad and was named after Ochterlony's senior wife, Mubarak Begum, who inherited it after his death. The central portion under the dome is surmounted by a cross and seems to have served as a model for that of Skinner's St. James's church. Ochterlony intended it for his tomb, but in the event died at Meerut where he was buried. Watercolour, folio size 25.8 x 19 cm. British Library, London, Add.Or:5475 f. 68.
